How college degrees would become irrelevant in the future

Education is the biggest booming sector in this world right now.

People are spending tons of money on tuition fees. Students are taking loans for it. When they don’t get jobs, they don’t have money to pay back the loans.

According to Forbes, The student loan debt has soared to $1.56 trillion in 2020 in the USA.

Therefore it is high time that we should focus on improving and gaining skills which are relevant for doing a job rather than doing unnecessary academics.

Do you know that Elon Musk doesn’t require a candidate to have a college degree for a job.

During an interview in 2014, he said that there is no need even to have a college degree at all or even high school.

He implied that one is capable of doing any job if he is skilled. As people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs never had a college degree.

According to CNBC, there are 14 companies including Google and Apple which do not require a college degree for granting a job.

Now you realize what would be the future of hiring. Companies like Google and Apple are not even asking for degrees.

What I believe is that this model of a college education is going to become obsolete because of its inability to make students fit for the job.

Google has even stated that they would launch certificate programs with just 6 months duration which would connect you to top employers who are hiring for related job positions.

I believe these type of certificates are going to be introduced by other institutions as well to compete.

I feel the education sector is going to get disrupted for good in future.
